About VitiMeteo

VitiMeteo is a forecast system for plant protection in Viticulture.

The VitiMeteo platform currently hosts these disease models:

  • VM Plasmopara: Simulation of powdery mildew (Plasmopara viticola)
  • VM Grap Moth: Temperature based flight date of grape moth (Eupoecilia ambiguella and Lobesia botrana)
  • VM Oidium: Risk Model for downy mildew (Uncinula necator), according to OiDiag of Dr. W. Kast, LVWO Weinsberg.
  • VM Blackwood: Temperature based flight date of Hyalesthes obsoletus, vector for the blackwood disease (according to Dr. M. Maxiner, JKI).
  • VM Blackrot: Simulation of Blackrot disease (Guignardia Bidwellii) according to Dr. D. Molitor, CRP Lippman.
  • VM Rustmite: Temperature based date of appearance of rustmite (Calepitrimerus vitis). Also applicable for gallmite (Eriophyes vitis).
  • Grape Growth: Computing the number and area of the leafs on the main shoot by means of weather data for the grape varieties Riesling, Müller-Thurgau and Spätburgunder (according to Prof. Schulz, Geisenheim's investigation).
  • VM Phenology: Complete phenologic development of grapes.
